Acupuncture in the Cambridge, Guelph & Kitchener-Waterloo Area

Acupuncture involves the use of very fine needles, inserted into specific areas of your body and is effective for many conditions.  Please read on to learn how a Registered Acupuncturist can help you with your health as well as how a Chiropractor or Massage Therapist can add acupuncture to your treatment at Eaton Family Health Care.

Erica Knight, Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.):

Acupuncture involves the use of very fine sterile needles that are inserted into strategic points

of the body – acupuncture points. By inserting fine needles into channels of energy called

Meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine, an acupuncturist stimulates the body’s own healing

response and restores its natural balance.

The principle aim of TCM acupuncture is to treat the whole body in order to recover the

equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of an individual.

The number of treatments will vary from person to person. Most people notice subtle changes

within 3-5 treatments. Treatment length may vary from 30-60 minutes depending on the

treatment and modalities used. (i.e., Acupuncture, Ear seeds (auricular), Electo-Acupuncture,

Cupping, Guasha).

Treatment frequency depends on a variety of factors such as your

constitution, the severity and duration of the problem.
